AIR COMMAND OFFERS BALLISTIC GYRO RECOVERY SYSTEM OPTION

The first gyroplane manufacture to offer a ballistic parachute recovery system as an option is Air Command International (ACI). said ACI Program Manager Doug Smith.

"In Situations where pilot error results in a mid-air collision or power pushover, using the Gyro Recovery System could save a life." Smith said. " Air Command International has always stressed safetly, and this makes any gyro safer to fly."

Smith said that two models of the Gyro Recovery System (GRS) manufactured by New Horizons Components fit all single-place or two place Commanders. The GRS includes a rocket-powered ballistic parachute, all hardware, and a four-point supension harness instead of a seat belt.

The GRS will be flown on two Air Command tandem gyros at the Popular Rotorcraft Association's Bensen Days Fly-In and at the Experimental Aircraft Association's Sun 'N Fun Fly-In.
